Les Eygats, a Cornas

Grape variety :
Syrah over 30 years old

Beautiful roundness, even in its youth, with very expressive black fruits and black cherry

Wine pairing :
To be enjoyed with autumnal and/or festive cuisine: duck breast Rossini style, beef bourguignon, chicken with porcini mushrooms or wild boar pie, winter vegetables and chocolate sauce. Serve between 16° and 18°C.

A wine that can be enjoyed today, on autumn and festive tables, but which will also reward the patience of amateurs in a few years.

 Great terroir for a great wine

The Syrah vines that make up this Cornas are over 30 years old. Planted on terraces at an altitude of 250m, they flourish on "les Eygats": a very special terroir of decomposed granite . They also benefit from a very beautiful East / South East exposure. The grapes are harvested manually, the wine is aged for 18 months in new barrels (50%) and barrels of 1 wine (50%).

Everything is brought together to produce a great wine, cut for laying down and menus for the big days.

Domaine Courbis, a safe bet in the Rhône valley

The Domaine Courbis collection is made up of 14 cuvées divided into three ranges: varietal cuvées, "estate" cuvées and parcel cuvées.

If the two Courbis brothers respect the secular family heritage (more than 4 centuries of history), this does not prevent them from diversifying production and expanding their playground to new AOCs and IGPs.

On the 39 ha of the estate, the queen Syrah of the Rhône Valley rubs shoulders with Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier. The heart of the production extends over Saint-Joseph and Cornas, the historic appellations.

But Dominique and Laurent also produce in AOC Saint-Péray and Crozes-Hermitage and in IGP Ardèche and Collines Rhodaniennes, 4 AOC and 2 IGP.
