The Moulin-à-vent appellation is located in the very north of the Beaujolais region, 70 km south of Beaune and 50 km north of Lyon. There are some 630 hectares of vines around the windmill which gave its name to the AOC.
Its only red grape variety is gammay which thrives on granite soils. In its youth, it gives fruity and fresh wines. As it ages, it gains in complexity while keeping its freshness and seducing with its finesse.
The roots of the vineyard, like others, go back to the arrival of the Romans in the region.
In 2009, Edouard Parinet and his father Jean-Jacques bought the estate. The leitmotif of these enthusiast winemakers: “To produce great wines, every detail counts”.
Massal selections, constant care and constantly adapted to the vine from pruning to harvest, tailor-made vinification: all choices are guided by the power of the terroir and the impact of the vintage. The conversion to organic farming in 2022 is the logical continuation of the non-use of chemical inputs in their vines since the takeover in 2009.
