Millésime :
In Alsace, 2017 is defined as an early vintage, of high quality and low yields. The wines reveal strong personalities, are very aromatic and present beautiful balances. The aromatic complexity of this Pinot Noir is linked to the very low yield of 45hl/ha.
Terroir :
Located in the town of Rodern, the terroir from which this Pinot Noir comes stretches over a small hill where the Grand Cru Gloeckelberg grapes are also grown. This place faces south and southeast, at an altitude of 250 to 360 m.
Wine making and raising :
The grapes are exclusively harvested by hand.
The maceration of destemmed grapes lasts 7 days. Bleeding is then carried out after vatting. The first days, pumping over and punching down are daily. Finally, malolactic fermentation is carried out either in tuns or barrels.
Aging continues on fine lees for 9 months before bottling, allowing the aromas of this exceptional wine to be refined.
Ribeauvillé, the wine-growing heritage of the monk-knight.
Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health. To consume with moderation.
