The Christophe Pichon family estate in the northern Rhône Valley (Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region) is renowned for the quality of its wines in the different appellations: Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Côte -du-Rhône. Without forgetting "Vins de Pay"s.
This beautiful family story began in 1987, when Christophe Pichon, after studying oenology in Macon-Devayé, joined his father at his grandfather's estate. On the advice of his father, he bought his first vines in 1991 and set up on his own.
Christophe Pichon served as president of the AOP winegrowers' union for three terms. With his wife Isabelle, he took over his father's farm. Their sons Corentin, Alexis and Victor joined the estate.
Corentin, after his studies in viticulture-oenology and experience in Australia, joined the family estate as “Conductor in the cellar”. He refines the vinifications in perfect harmony with the philosophy of the estate. Christophe Pichon is delighted to have let Corentin do some tests. “The wines have gained even more precision and finesse, he has also been able to purchase more grapes. He devotes himself to the cellar and breeding. He is the author, among other things, of our first vinification of white wines without sulphites, continued but not completed in 2020 following the crisis. Another of our specialties is to make wine with our own sourdoughs.”
Then, the arrival of Alexis and Victor made it possible to distribute the different tasks instead of having to juggle every day between the delicate driving of the tractor in the vineyards on the hillsides, winemaking, sales and the rest. Laetitia, Corentin's partner, supports Isabelle Pichon in the administrative and accounting aspects, welcoming customers, preparing orders, managing harvest staff...
Thanks to the family know-how acquired over several decades, the family estate produces quality wines, full of finesse and elegance. The 30 hectare estate is labeled HVE3.
