A little apart from the prestigious image of Bordeaux's great châteaux, the AOC Côtes-de-Bourg has no reason to hide.
35 kilometers north of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Dordogne, the AOC Côtes-de-Bourg appellation is nicknamed "the little Switzerland of Gironde". The hillsides and valleys of this unique terroir with panoramic views extend over fifteen communes, from Bourg to Blaye via the Corniche Fleurie road, and are home to nearly 170 independent winegrowers. Vincent Rouaix is ??one of them. CEO of a digital company, this knowledgeable enthusiast fell in love with this property located in the commune of Samonac, which he bought in 2021.
"Château Beaulieu embodies the heritage of an artisanal winemaking tradition and remarkable know-how. The estate had already switched to organic farming. Already of a beautiful quality, I immediately made a wish to sublimate the wines of the property. I called on Hubert de Boüard, a winegrower-consultant with exceptional expertise. We planted new plots, refined the treatments of the vine in organic, bought amphorae, reviewed the packaging... This work has borne fruit. ", estimates Vincent Rouaix.
Victor Ribeiro, operations manager of Château Beaulieu, specializes in the management and improvement of wine estates in organic farming. He strives to perpetuate the excellence of the vineyard while integrating sustainable and innovative practices. "Working the vineyard in organic farming requires a lot of rigor and requirement. Nature returns it a hundredfold with a grape that has become incomparable, with a taste palette of incredible richness".
The estate, a pretty chartreuse in blond stone, also offers seven rooms classified 5 stars by Atout France.
