A three-hectare area has been created within the grounds of the ZooParc to welcome Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, two giant pandas, with dignity. But not only.
Other Chinese animal species have found refuge there, such as small red pandas, snow panthers and takins. Takins? Dressed in long, thick fur ranging from brown to golden yellow, he is believed to be the origin of the Greek legend of the Golden Fleece! A pagoda, marble lions, Asian plants add to the scenery.
Four years after this major project, Beauval has expanded again: a vast park for hippopotamuses with a basin bordered by beaches, a river and a waterfall.
This new area is home to bush pigs, wild African pigs adapted to the aquatic environment, as well as a family of nyalas, graceful antelopes with a zebra coat. A huge net protecting the space, several species of African birds frolic there: Abdim's storks, storks, vultures, sacred ibises...
Impressive baobabs complete this new installation.
At the end of the day, when giraffes, zebras, rhinos and other African animals are gently chasing each other, the growling of the felines completes the illusion: it's almost like being in Africa!
Two shows host shows several times a day whose heroes are the animals, of course.
In The Odyssey of the Sea Lions, the action takes place in the water while the Masters of the Air stage .... the birds. 200 birds make their show by shaving the heads of the spectators.
For the finale, owls, cranes, pelicans, storks, ibises and marabouts join the aerial ballet of birds of prey for a magical moment. Throughout the day, animators recount the life and customs of the species housed.
One day is not too much to see everything! Avoid holidays and weekends, the park being a victim of its own success! Parc de Beauval is ranked number 1 zoo in France. With more than 600 animals representing some 600 species, this ZooParc presents the greatest animal diversity in France. Beauval is the story of a woman, Françoise Delord, who dedicated her life to animals and their protection.
