The history of Maison Christophe Pichon Père & Fils dates back to the 1960s, when vineyards in the northern Rhône Valley were being abandoned. Philippe Pichon acquired plots of land on the hillsides around Condrieu. After extensive work, he planted his first vines in 1976, with Viognier and Saint-Joseph grapes. His tireless efforts have vinified this visionary; the wines from these rugged slopes are now appreciated worldwide.

The estate expanded, with Christophe joining the family business before establishing his own in 1991. President of the Condrieu AOC from 2003 to 2022, he is currently fully committed to having the Rhône Valley vineyards recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. His son, Corentin, shares the same passion for winemaking in general and the slopes above Chavany in particular. It was Corentin who introduced the plot-by-plot approach to winemaking and initiated new plantings. Father and son create new cuvées, wines that are ever more refined and elegant, expressing their exceptional terroir. Since 2023, a new, more functional winery has allowed for winemaking that meets their exacting standards.

Their production of 180,000 bottles is sold at the estate and is also available at wine shops and in restaurants, including many Michelin-starred establishments in France.
