A lover of Loire wines, Bernard Gault acquired an estate in July 2022 that cultivates vines in the renowned Chinon appellation of the Loire region. To realize his dream of "making exceptional wines in the heart of a historic place," he enlisted the help of Nicolas Reau, consultant and winemaker at Clos des Treilles, and entrusted the management to winemaker Bernard Pelé.
Located on the hills above the village of Cravant-les-Coteaux, Domaine des Bernard cultivates its vines on 13 hectares, 11.5 of which are dedicated to Cabernet Franc and 1.5 hectares to Chenin Blanc, considered the white gold of the appellation. The vines are farmed organically, and the wines are made using natural winemaking methods, thus reflecting the authenticity and unique character of this terroir.
